The Hicks three surviving children are in need of your support

On May 22nd 2009, life changed forever for the Hicks family. A family trip with good intentions turned tragic.

Wayne Hicks took his family on a trip to meet his biological father for the first time. The Hicks family left Queens New York headed to the family reunion in Alabama. Midway to their destination they suffered a terrible car crash that ended four of their lives.

Wayne Hicks, Sr. died, along with his wife, Natalie Hicks; 10-year-old son, Wayne, Jr.; and 3-year-old daughter, Natalia. Surviving the car crash were Elijah 8, John 7, and Josiah 5.

Today, the three surviving Hicks children need your support. Funeral costs and the expenses of raising three children in this economy can be astronomical.

HicksFund.org set up to support the Hicks Children
The HicksFund.org website has been set up by the parents' Church (Community Church of Christ, Jamaica New York) to help support the Hicks children and their future education.

There are 3 funds set up by the church that will help greatly support these efforts. They are the funeral expense fund, children's expense fund, and 529 college savings fund.

Please find it in your heart to lend your support with a generous donation.

Funeral Expense Fund.
Minimal burial cost is right at $15,000. As of May 24th 2009, the Church has raised some funds, but not enough to cover the full cost. Your donations of any amount will be greatly appreciated.

PLEASE NOTE: We will remove this fund request when we have covered the total amount of the funeral.

Hicks Children Fund.
The three remaining Hicks Children, Elijah 8, John 7 and Josiah 5 will need a life time of support. The Church will offer support for the three young boys and help raise them as well. However, the church is asking for your help by making a donation that can go towards their day-to-day expenses.

Hicks Children 529 College Fund
The Church along with its Pastor, Bishop Lester Williams, has set up a New York State 529 College Saving Fund. Each child has his separate account. It's very unfortunate that Wayne and Natalie will not get a chance to see their children go to college. However, it shouldn't kill their dream of their children receiving a good education. With your support and gifts of generosity, you can help make this possible.
